David obtained his BProc Degree during 1983 and is presently practicing at Brown Braude & Vlok Incorporated in the capacity of Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public . He joined Brown Braude & Vlok in 1986 as a Candidate Attorney.

He served his Articles at Brown Braude & Vlok and has remained with Brown Braude & Vlok ever since thus enjoying more than  30 years  service.

He was admitted as an Attorney in 1988.

He became Partner in 1988 and is at present a Senior Director of the firm.

Whilst David has excellent litigation skills, during 1991, as a result in the demand of the Company he specialized in Conveyancing.

From the perspective of Conveyancing, David has looked after the major  Banks and thereby ensured that BBV has retained its position as Panel Attorney for FNB Home Loans, FNB Housing, Standard Bank Home Loans, Nedbank Home Loans and ABSA Bank Home Loans in additional to their respective cancellation panels.

His expertise in general conveyancing includes, but is not limited to, property transfers, sub-divisions, consolidation of land, contracts of sale, donation and exchange, registration of all forms of bonds, lease and option agreements, sectional title, share blocks, township establishment and developments.

David has established and opened Township Registries on behalf of the Local Authority.

David also accepts Conveyancing transactions on a referral basis from various Colleagues within the Eastern Cape.

During this period   David specialized in the provisions of Sectional Titles Act, both from a conveyancing and dispute resolution perspective.

David has created a Sectional Titles Department at Brown Braude & Vlok from grassroots level.

David presently represents the interests of most of the Managing Agents in Port Elizabeth appointed to manage the various Sectional Titles Schemes within the Port Elizabeth and immediate surrounds.

By virtue of that relationship, David provides legal services for approximately 120 Body Corporate Schemes.

These services include the collection of levies, the provision of advice to the Trustees on their functions in terms of the Act and initiating and Chairing disputes arising within the various Schemes.

David has resolved a number of disputes that have been referred to him.

He has also been appointed as an Arbitrator in numerous disputes arising out of the various Schemes both by agreement by the parties to the dispute and by formerly the Registrar of Deeds Cape Town, now the Chief Registrar of Deeds, although this mechanism for dispute resolution has now fallen away due to the Sectional Titles Act having being amended.

David is highly regarded by his Colleagues as an expert in the Sectional Titles Act and the Rules and is often requested to provide formal and informal opinions particular to disputes arising out the provisions of the Sectional Titles Act and the Rules.

As a Senior Member of the Firm, he has been part of its core leadership that has ensured good service delivery and the expansion of the Firm’s footprint within the Eastern Cape.
